Established by the China Society for Human Rights Studies in 2015, the China-Europe Seminar on Human Rights has become a platform for human rights communication and cooperation between China and Europe.
The first edition was held in December 2015 at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France. It was then held in Chongqing in 2016, Amsterdam in 2017, Bruges in 2018, Vienna in 2019, Chongqing and Rome in 2021, Vienna and Wuhan in 2022, and Rome in 2023.
Officials, experts and scholars from China and European countries actively participated in the seminars and carried out in-depth discussions on issues such as the protection of children's rights, ethnic minorities' rights, and the rights of the disabled; the diversity of civilization and human rights protection; the comparison of human rights values between the East and the West; the COVID-19 and Guarantee of the right to life and health, science and technology and human rights; modernization and the diversity of human rights among civilizations.
This year, the 2024 China-Europe Seminar on Human Rights will be held in Berlin, Germany on October 22. The seminar will focus on the protection of the new and emerging rights. Please stay tuned!
