The Practical Path of the “People-Centered” Human Rights Concept in the Construction of Common Prosperity: Based on an Examination of Zhejiang Province’s Experience
FENG Jiao*
Abstract: The “people-centered” human rights concept serves as the core ideological framework guiding the construction of common prosperity. From a human rights perspective, common prosperity represents a systematic social practice at a specific historical stage in China, aimed at realizing the people’s economic, social, cultural, and political rights. As a demonstration zone for common prosperity, Zhejiang province has transformed the concept of common prosperity into concrete outcomes through practical mechanisms such as consolidating the foundation of human rights through high-quality development, promoting rights sharing through institutional innovation, advancing all-round human development through spiritual enrichment, and expanding rights participation channels through grassroots governance. Zhejiang’s exploratory practices have achieved phased results, but also face challenges in areas such as resource assurance, improvement of the rights system, and equalization of public services. To construct a “people-centered” practical path for human rights in common prosperity, coordinated efforts need to be made in terms of fundamental premises, core drivers, institutional guarantees, cultural support, and implementation mechanisms.
