In 1994, The Center for Human Rights Studies of the Central Party School of the CPC Central Committee was established, becoming one of the earliest academic research institutions dedicated to human rights studies in China. In 2022, the Center for Human Rights Studies of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee(National Academy of Governance) was established. Operating under the Department of Politics and Law, the center integrates relevant research strengths from across the School (Academy), with the goal of becoming a national human rights think tank and research base. Since its inception, the center has conducted extensive work in human rights research, education, and exchanges, achieving fruitful results. In the field of human rights education, it has provided human rights courses for officials training;in human rights research, it has published a series of monographs on human rights and undertaken multiple relevant national and provincial-level research projects; in human rights exchanges, it has actively promoted dialogue and exchanges on human rights between China and other countries through multilateral conferences, inter-party exchanges, international events, and overseas training programs.In May 2026, the center was officially designated as a National Human Rights Education and Training Base.
