
Abstract
This is the 14th blue book on the development of human rights cause in China, which records and analyzes the latest progress and development trends of human rights cause in China in 2023.
The General Report provides an overall analysis of China's comprehensive development of human rights in 2023 while taking into account both domestic and international situations. It focuses on enhancing the level of economic,social,and cultural rights protection by promoting people's well-being, strengthening civil and political rights through good laws and governance, and promoting the sharing of human rights development achievements among various specific groups.
The book includes 13 thematic reports and two case study reports, focusing on the latest progress in specific human rights safeguarding in 2023.
In terms of economic,social,and cultural rights, four thematic reports respectively analyze how rural revitalization and urban regeneration actions have promoted human rights safeguarding, as well as new progress in the protection of labour rights and interests of practitioners in new business forms.
In terms of civil and political rights, two thematic reports analyze the role of the government's recordation review in protecting citizen's basic rights, as well as the protection of democratic rights of farmers participating in rural construction.
In terms of the impact of digital technology construction on human rights, three thematic reports respectively analyze how digital economy construction contributes to protecting the rights to subsistence and development, how digital government construction safeguards civil rights, and the protection of minors' rights and interests in cyberspace.
In terms of environmental rights protection, one thematic report analyzes new progress in judicial protection of environmental rights under the dual carbon goal, while two case study reports specifically analyze the protection of rights and interests of fishermen who have retired from fishing during the implementation of the "Ten Year Fishing Ban on the Yangtze River" policy, and Yunnan's practices and experiences in ecological civilization construction and environmental rights guarantee.
China's International Cooperation, and Communication Concerning Human Rights in 2023 analyzes China's international human rights cooperation and communication conducted in 2023.
Analysis Report on China's Human Rights Legislation in 2023 provides a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of China's human rights legislation in 2023, with an appendix listing laws and administrative regulations directly related to human rights that were formulated, revised, amended, or repealed in 2023.
The appendix includes "Chronicle of Human Rights in China 2023", which records important human rights events in China during 2023.
