Themed on "Human Rights Civilization and China's Human Rights Development Path", the 5th China Human Rights Youth Forum was successfully held in Guangzhou on December 1, 2024. More than 70 experts and young scholars from nearly 30 universities and research institutes attended the forum.
Professor Wang Xigen, dean of the Law School and director of the Institute for Human Rights Law at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and professor He Zhipeng, dean of the Law School at Jilin University, made keynote speeches, and professor Zhang Yonghe, executive director of the Human Rights Institute at Southwest University of Political Science and Law, gave a summary report at the closing ceremony. The veteran human rights experts encouraged young scholars to shoulder bigger responsibility of telling stories of Chinese human rights to the world, and building China's human rights discourse system.

This forum has six parallel sub-forums, namely "Human Rights Theory and Discourse", "Emerging Rights Protection", "International Human Rights Protection", "Business and Human Rights", "Rights of Specific Groups" and "Constitutional Basic Rights." Nearly 30 young scholars made academic speeches with diverse viewpoints. 12 human rights experts served as guest reviewers, providing on-site guidance on the researches.

This forum received a total of 142 paper submissions. After reviewing, 35 outstanding papers were selected and awarded certificates.
The China Human Rights Youth Forum started in 2019, aiming to provide a platform for young scholars to exchange and learn from each other, and develop a youth community and new force for China's human rights research. So far, it has been successfully held for five times.
