Jiang Jianguo, member of the standing committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), deputy director of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, and executive vice-president of the China Society for Human Rights Studies (CSHRS), met with a delegation led by Mirzatillo Tillaboev, first deputy of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights in Beijing on October 17. The two sides exchanged views on topics such as the China-Uzbekistan human rights cooperation and the development of China's human rights cause.

Jiang Jianguo introduced the concept and pivot of the development of China's human rights cause, especially the practice and experience of China's coordinated development and security, and active participation in global human rights governance in the new era.

Jiang also recalled the consensus reached and results achieved by the two sides when the CSHRS delegation visited the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights in August this year.

China and Uzbekistan are both developing countries and enjoy a long history of friendly exchanges. Despite the different national conditions, their international stances are the same, which offer a powerful driving force for the two countries to carry out exchanges and cooperation in the field of human rights, Jiang said.

Mirzatillo Tillaboev shared his experiences in visiting Chinese mainland, and highly appreciated the remarkable progress China has achieved in human rights.

Uzbekistan and China should further carry out human rights exchanges and cooperation, and jointly make more contributions to enhancing the voice of the developing countries in human rights governance, Tillaboev said.

Lyu Tao, director of the CSHRS, and Batir Tursunov, minister-counsellor of the Embassy, among others, were present at the meeting.
