Sept. 10, 2024 -- The first China-Latin America and Caribbean States Roundtable on Human Rights is set to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Tuesday.

China is the largest developing country in the world, while Latin America and the Caribbean have one of the highest concentrations of developing countries. China has long carried out mutually beneficial cooperation with the region in the areas of economy and trade.

2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive cooperative partnership between China and Latin America, as well as the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil.
