Aug. 26, 2024 -- The 4th Qomolangma Forum on Tibetan Studies was held in Chengdu, Sichuan province, from Wednesday to Thursday.
Organized by the China Association for Preservation and Development of Tibetan Culture and the China Tibetology Research Center, the forum drew nearly a hundred scholars from universities and scientific research institutions in Sichuan, Yunnan, Gansu and Qinghai provinces, as well as Beijing and the Xizang autonomous region.
After its opening ceremony, eight scholars exchanged views on the practice of Chinese-style modernization in Xizang and the development of Tibetan studies.
After keynote speeches, the forum held two seminars. Participants exchanged academic research results from the perspectives of the contemporary inheritance and innovation of Tibetan studies, the practice of Chinese-style modernization in Xizang, and the forging of a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.
The forum has been held four times since 2010. It is an important platform for Tibetan studies scholars to exchange academic views, according to Qiu Zhenhua, an information officer from the China Tibetology Research Center.
