Nov. 27, 2023 -- Jiang Jianguo, member of the standing committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), vice-director of the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the CPPCC and executive vice-president of the China Society for Human Rights Studies (CSHRS), met with a friendly Indian delegation led by Parveen Gupta, chairman of the National Human Rights Council of India (NHRC), in Beijing on November 21, 2023.

Scholars and experts from the CSHRS introduced the enrichment and practice of the contemporary Chinese outlook on human rights, as well as the work progress of the CSHRS in the meeting. The Indian delegation highly appreciated China’s achievements in protecting and promoting human rights.
After an in-depth discussion about the similarity of each other’s human rights development and the common challenges, both sides agreed to actively carry out dialogues and exchanges in terms of human rights, increase the developing countries’ discourse power on human rights governance, and jointly promote more fair, just, reasonable and inclusive global human rights governance.
Shen Yongxiang, vice-president of the CSHRS, Tang Xianwen, secretary-general of the CSHRS, Xu Yan, deputy director of the Department of Asian and African Affairs of the Chinese People's Association For Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), and Ashish Gupta, secretary-general of the NHRC, among others, were present at the meeting.
