July 1, 2023 -- On the afternoon of June 30, Jiang Jianguo, member of the standing committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), vice-director of the Committee for Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the CPPCC and executive vice-president of the China Society for Human Rights Studies (CSHRS), met with a Mexican delegation led by Cristopher Ballinas Valdés, director general for human rights and democracy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on the two countries’ human rights concepts, human rights development practices, and exchange and cooperation among think tanks in the field of human rights.

 

Li Xiaojun, deputy secretary-general of the CSHRS, Qi Mingjie, director of the secretariat of the CSHRS, Qiu Congyang, a deputy section director of the International Department of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Jesús Enrique Escamilla Núñez, deputy head of mission of the Embassy of Mexico to China, among others, were present at the meeting.
