The Chinese government has rightly stated that the United Nations is the main platform for international cooperation. Giving due attention to development is a matter of priority, considering that one of the objectives of the Global Development Initiative is to provide a platform for policy dialogue and coordination in development cooperation. The Group of 77 and China will play a key role in the presentation of concrete proposals. It is a priority to raise awareness of the negative impact of unilateral coercive measures which, apart from being illegal, are real and deliberate attacks on the right to development of more than a third of humanity and can easily be described as a means of creating gaps between our peoples and fostering inequality and social exclusion. The way to achieve common goals is multilateralism. It has been demonstrated that unilateralism creates barriers, fosters inequality and division and throws peoples into the abyss of poverty.
