Medical conditions in China’s poorest regions are improving with the help of tar-geted medical assistance to hospitals in these regions.

Increased investment helps half a million people get out of poverty in Xinjiang
 
Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region secured 33.4 billion yuan (about 4.99 billion U.S. dollars) for poverty relief programs last year.

Healthcare continued to attract investment in China, with funds flowing in to the sector increasing 78.64 percent year on year to 82.6 billion yuan (12.28 billion U.S. dollars) in 2018, the China Daily reported on Feb. 19, 2019.

China has made “important and decisive achievements” in poverty relief in the past six years, and will continue its efforts this year to lay a solid foundation for winning the battle against poverty by 2020.

China has made headway in poverty alleviation, with minimum living allowance standards for both urban and rural areas rising in 2018, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs on Feb. 21, 2019.

Xinjiang lifts over 2 million people out of poverty in past five years

Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region lifted more than 2.31 million people out of poverty from 2014 to 2018 amid its all-out poverty relief efforts, regional authorities said on July 30, 2019.

Aiming to protect the legitimate rights and interests of rural migrant workers, people’s courts at all levels are required to take effective measures to help root out non-payment of wages, including an improved one-stop litigation service mechanism and a green channel to facilitate litigation services in related cases, the SPC said in a circular.
