June 22, 2019 -- The "2019· China-Europe Seminar on Human Rights " co-sponsored by the China Society for Human Rights Studies (CSHRS) and the Austria-China Friendship Association (ÖGCF) was held in Vienna, Austria on Friday. The theme of the seminar is "Comparison of Human Rights Values between the East and the West" and nearly 100 delegates from China and Europe attended the seminar. Fu Zitang, vice president of the CSHRS and president of the Southwest University of Political Science and Law, said in the opening speech that since the founding of the People’s Republic of China 70 years ago, the Chinese nation has ushered in a great leap forward from standing up and getting rich to becoming strong. China has been following a development path of human rights in line with China's national conditions and has achieved world-renowned achievements on human rights. Heinz Fischer, former Austrian President and Chairman of the ÖGCF, said human rights are values cherished by all mankind. Although countries have different understandings of human rights, the goal of achieving full human rights for all is the same. The participation of experts and scholars on human rights from China and Europe in this seminar will help to enhance the understanding and consensus of the east and west on the value of human rights and demonstrate the joint efforts of the international community to promote the cause of human rights in the world.. The China-Europe Seminar on Human Rights was founded in 2015 by the CSHRS, and has been a platform for deep exchanges and dialogue on human rights between China and Europe . By: Shi Dongdong |
