March 30,2018--The Chinese resolution - Promoting Mutually Beneficial Cooperation in the Field of Human Rights - was adopted at the 37th meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on March 23.
The resolution calls for fostering a new type of international relations based on mutual respect, fairness, justice and mutually beneficial cooperation, with the aim of building a community with a shared future for humankind.
The Chinese resolution is an important contribution to the world as the cause of global human rights has been influenced by uncertain political, economic and scientific elements and traditional and new challenges still linger.
Since China regained its seat in the UNHRC by winning 180 votes on Oct 28, 2016, the country has made continuous efforts to fulfill its due responsibilities.
The adoption of the resolution shows that Chinese efforts in human rights protection have received broad recognition.
As a staunch supporter of and an active participant in the global human rights governance, China has contributed its wisdom and will play a more important role.
