May 31, 2017 -- A delegation of China Society for Human Rights Studies (CSHRS) led by Qiangba Puncog, chairman of the CSHRS and vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, visited Peru from May 27 to May 29. The delegation held talks with Peru’s parliament and human rights departments on human rights progress, education and research.
The delegation gave an introduction of the CSHRS and its major functions as well as the new progress of human rights in China. To respect and protect human rights is one of the principles laid down in China’s Constitution. China has always put people’s rights to subsistence and development in the first place and enacted a series of laws, regulations to protect human rights.
The bilateral relationship has been improving and was elevated to comprehensive strategic partnership in 2013. Both sides should strengthen exchanges on human rights legislation, education and training, said Qiangba Puncog.
