Kuala Lumpur, May 25, 2015 -- China Society for Human Rights Studies delegation led by Luo Haocai visited Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia and held seminars with Malaysia’s MFA, National Commission on Human Rights (Malaysia), and Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute respectively on May 21 and 22.

Chinese and Malaysian scholars and personnel concerned on seminar respectively introduced measures, experiences and achievements on human rights protection and human rights theory studies.

Both sides agreed that China and Malaysia are multinational countries and faced with the challenge to deal with the harmony between different nations. Various nations and development levels require distinguished human rights protection measures and dimensions. Governments should protect each nation and group’s rights efficiently based on national situations and gradually promote rights equality between nations, focus on the balance between economic, social, cultural, civil and political rights, uphold rule by law, comprehensively facilitate and implement all types of rights actually.

Both sides also stressed that respecting human rights is not just from western countries. Asian countries possess profound human rights and humanitarian culture as well. Scholars from both sides should work together and fight for spreading Asian voices in world human rights field through human rights communication and cooperation.

They added that China and Malaysia have a close relationship in economic, social and cultural fields. Human rights communication and cooperation can better deepen and refresh China-Malaysia relations and further promote the building of Asian values.
