BBC reporter talks about human rights censoriously and Chinese Premier easily cope

The afternoon of June 17, London. It was sunny after the cool weather for several days.

In a classical building of the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and British Prime Minister attended the signing ceremony of a series of the cooperation documents between the two countries.

Afterwards, the two leaders entered the Locarno hall which located in the second floor, jointly met with a large number of Chinese and foreign journalists who had already been waiting for a long time.

Facing to the British journalists "cunning" questions, Li Keqiang responsed them respectively, impressing the outside with the self-confidence, honesty, intelligence and humor from the East and China.

Blue Book of New Media 2014: China's new media enter the 'micro' era

According to the Blue Book of New Media 2014 released by Chinese Academy of Social Science on June 25 2014, China's new media have entered the "micro" era. From the user structure analysis, "WeChat users are mostly the middle class and micro blogging users are mainly the grassroots".

The number of WeChat users has now reached 600 million, with more than 270 million active users at home and abroad every month. This app has released over 20 language versions, covering more than 200 countries and regions worldwide.

There are 103 websites in China that provide micro blogging services, with customer accounts numbering more than 1.3 billion. Tencent has the largest number of micro blogging users, while Sina Weibo users are most active.

Confessions of Japanese war criminals online

The State Archives Administration started releasing a large number of files on major Japanese war criminals on its website on Thursday to offer a clearer picture of history.

"The confessions written by all the war criminals and the detailed trial records contained in the archived files are irrefutable evidence of the heinous crimes committed by the Japanese militarist aggressors against the Chinese people," Li Minghua, deputy director of Central Archives of China, said on Thursday.

China issues white paper on foreign aid

China on Thursday issued its second white paper on foreign aid, elaborating how the nation helps other developing countries reduce poverty and improve livelihood without imposing political conditions.

The white paper, China's Foreign Aid (2014), says as the world's largest developing country, China appropriated 89.34 billion yuan (about 14 billion U.S. dollars) for foreign assistance through grant, interest-free loans and concessional loans from 2010 to 2012.

The twelfth China-German Dialogue on Human Rights Held in Beijing

The twelfth China-German Dialogue on Human Rights was held in Beijing from 13 to 14, July. The major issue of the conference was "international law and the protection of human rights". Germany experts and scholars deeply discussed ,frankly communicated with Chinese representatives ,and reached the agreement on how to protect national sovereignty and civil rights of all countries to international law , as well as how to combine the international conventions on human rights with the local concrete conditions.

The former vice Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, the Chairman of China foundation for human rights development Huang Mengfu, the vice director of the State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China Cui Yuying attended and delivered a speech on the opening ceremony .

Five universities become the second batch of national human rights education and training bases

The Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China held an awarding ceremony of the second batch of national human rights education and training bases in Beijing, granting Renmin University of China Research Center for Human Rights, Fudan University Research Center for Human Rights, Wuhan University Research Institute for Human Rights, Shandong University Research Center for Human Rights, Southwest University of Political Science and Law Research and Education Center for Human Rights the second batch of national human rights education and training bases. The president of China Society for Human Rights Studies Luo Haocai attended the awarding ceremony.

Xi grieves over Taiwan plane crash

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, conveyed condolences after a deadly plane crash in Taiwan Wednesday evening.

Xi, who is on a Latin America tour, felt "deeply grieved" after learning the tragedy has caused heavy casualties, said a statement from the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office (SCTAO).

Flight GE 222, operated by Taiwan's TransAsia Airways, crashed at around 7 p.m. while attempting to land in stormy weather.

Heavy casualties reported in Xinjiang terror attack

Dozens of civilians were killed or injured in a terrorist attack early on Monday morning in Shache County, Kashgar Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, local police said.

A gang armed with knives and axes attacked a police station and government offices in Elixku Township, and some moved on to the nearby Huangdi Township, attacking civilians and smashing vehicles as they passed. Dozens of Uygur and Han civilians were killed or injured, according to the local police.

Police officers at the scene shot dead dozens of members of the mob.

Xinjiangers condemn murder of religious leader by extremists

People from all walks of life and ethnic groups have condemned the murder of the imam of China's largest mosque in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region by extremists on Wednesday.

Jume Tahir, imam of the Id Kah Mosque in the city of Kashgar, was killed at 6:58 a.m. on Wednesday after he finished hosting the morning ritual.

Xi Jinping mourns Taiwan explosion victims

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, on Friday conveyed condolences to the victims in the gas leak explosions that hit Kaohsiung City in Taiwan on Thursday.

At least 24 people were killed when several underground gas explosions ripped through Taiwan's second-largest city. Earlier reports said 271 others were injured.

Xi said he was "deeply concerned" after learning of the heavy casualties, according to a statement acquired by Xinhua.

China factory blast reveals work safety loopholes

An explosion has killed 69 people and injured more than 180 others after ripping through a factory in east China's Jiangsu Province on Saturday morning, government sources said.

The blast gutted a wheel hub polishing workshop owned by the Taiwanese-invested Kunshan Zhongrong Metal Products Co., Ltd in Kunshan City at 7:37 a.m., according to the city government.

An initial probe indicated that the explosion might have been caused by flames igniting "dust" inside the workshop, officials said.

Xi calls for saving people's lives first after deadly quake

President Xi Jinping has called for saving people's lives first after a strong earthquake rattled southwest China's Yunnan Province Sunday and killed at least 175 people.

In instructions issued late Sunday night, Xi ordered that authorities concerned give top priority to saving people's lives, minimize casualties and guarantee a proper settlement for quake victims.

He called for all-out efforts in relief operation and strengthening aftershock monitoring to prevent secondary disasters.

Premier Li Keqiang also made instructions for disaster relief, urging local authorities to try every possible means to save the injured people and those buried in rubble.

China opens Tibet forum with focus on development

Around 100 representatives from around the world convened for the two-day forum on the development of Tibet on Tuesday.

The forum, hosted in the autonomous region's capital, Lhasa, will see delegates from Britain, India, the United states and other countries pool collective experience to discuss development strategies for the region.

Jointly sponsored by the Information Office of China' s State Council and the regional government of Tibet, the forum seeks to gather opportunities and suggestions for Tibet's future. The protection of Tibetan culture and environment will also be highlighted.

Tibet development forum wraps up in Lhasa

Scholars, politicians and journalists from China and abroad wrapped up the Tibet forum in the "holy city" of Lhasa, forging consensus on development of the Chinese autonomous region.

Around 100 delegates from 33 countries and regions including China, Britain, India and the United States pooled collective experience to discuss development strategies for the region during the two-day forum.

The forum, the first international conference themed on the development of Tibet, sought suggestions for Tibet's future development.
