China Society for Human Rights Studies organizes forum to study and implement guidelines of 3rd plenum of 18th CPC Central Committee

The China Society for Human Rights Studies (CSHRS) organized on Nov. 28 a forum to study and implement the guidelines of the third plenary session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Executive members of CSHRS and other CSHRS members in Beijing discussed improvement of judicial protection for human rights and legal construction in China. CSHRS President LuoHaocai, who was vice chairman of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, delivered a speech at the forum.[page]
 
President Luo pointed out that the third plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee was a very important meeting, taking placeas China is entering the decisive stage of comprehensively completing the construction of a well-off society. The decision by the CPC Central Committee on certain key issues regarding comprehensively deepening reform, which was endorsed at the third plenary session, has achieved ideological consensus and wisdom in actionfrom the CPC and the whole society. It has formed a series of major breakthroughs in reform theory and policies. In the course of comprehensively deepening reform,Itis another overall deployment and general mobilization that will certainlyhavea big and far-reaching impact on the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
 

CSHRS vice presidents Ye Xiaowen, Li Junru and Chen Shiqiu, as well as experts and scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing Foreign Studies University and Nankai University, shared their realizations from studying the decision approved at the third plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee and discussed improvement of judicial protection for human rights, standardization of the operation of judicial power, strengthening construction of a rights relief system and other topics. All the participants believed that the third plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee placed promotion of social equity and justice and improvement of people’s livelihood as the starting point and the objectiveof comprehensively deepening reform.

 

Putting people at the core, and especially proposingthe improvement of judicial protection for human rights and creating detailed related regulations – all of this should be earnestly studied and carefully understood. Implementation of the spirit of the third plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee and related requirements will certainly further promote the human rights cause in China.
