CSHRS meets with IUSY in Beijing

Jan. 24, 2014 (chinahumanrights.org) -- Ana Pirtskhalava, vice president of International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY), and Samuel Muyizzi visited China Society For Human Rights Studies (CSHRS) on the morning of Jan. 22, 2014.

 

 

Zhao Xiaoling, director of China Society For Human Rights Studies and direcor of human rights research center of Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, and Zhang Yun, direcor of history institute in China Tibetology Research Center attended the meeting.

 

They discussed human rights issues with Ana Pirtskhalava and Samuel Muyizzi on gender equality and political rights of women, rights of homosexual people, policies on ethnic minority, guarantee of labor's rights, environment protection, Beijing Forum on Human Rights and the functions of China Society For Human Rights Studies.

 

Ana Pirtskhalava and Samuel Muyizzi thanked for CSHRS's reception and said, during this visit, they better understood China's view on human rights and the development of human rights in China, espectially in Tibet. Besides, they expressed their wishes to attend this year's Beijing Forum on Human Rights.

 

Founded in 1907, International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) is a major power in international youth movement with UN ECOSOC special consultative status and its head office is Located in Vienna, Austria. It has 150 member organizations in the world. IUSY was invited by the Central Committee of the Communist Young League to visit China this time.
