Xinhua Commentary: Western countries should stop imposing double standards regarding human rights
On February 22th, the 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council was opened. Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi put forward four proposals to promote human rights when addressing the high-level meeting of the UN session via video link. The China Society for Human Rights Studies(CSHRS) handed in 5 articles to the session, illustrating China’s human rights protection in combating COVID-19, poverty alleviation measures and achievements in Tibet, the history and status of Living Buddha in Tibetan Buddhism, and refuting western countries rights accusations in Xinjiang. China organized series of sidelines of the 46th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
